IEEE UFFC Seattle - Tech Talk - Contrast-enhanced ultrasound and liver cancer
The Seattle Chapter of the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferrroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society (UFFC-S) aims to provide UFFC-S members with opportunities for professional and personal growth as well as network with the local, vibrant UFFC community.
The speaker for our February Tech Talk will be Dr. Mike Averkiou, PhD from the University of Washington. Dr. Averkiou is a Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at UW Seattle as well as the co-director of the ultrasound-based Washington Molecular Imaging and Therapy Center (uWAMIT). His research interests include diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound as well as ultrasound-mediated drug delivery. Dr. Averkiou was recently awarded a large NIH R01 grant to treat liver cancer through ultrasound and microbubbles.
Dr. Averkiou will present "Quantification of the blood supply of liver tumors with contrast-enhanced ultrasound: Simplifying LIRADS and evaluating systemic therapies."
This meeting will be at the University of Washington in Seattle. The meeting will be hybrid. Please register so that organizers can plan accordingly. Online meeting details are included below.
