Poster Competition: Innovative Alternatives for a Sustainable Future
On October 7, 2024,celebrating the IEEE DAYS the IEEE Student Branch at Galgotias University hosted a Poster Competition under the theme Innovative Alternatives for a Sustainable Future. The event aimed to foster creative thinking and innovation in addressing sustainability challenges. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—including SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 13 (Climate Action)—the competition encouraged students to propose technological solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future.
With 50 teams from diverse disciplines, the event featured poster presentations on topics such as renewable energy technologies, waste management systems, eco-friendly materials, and sustainable infrastructure. Each team was allotted 5-7 minutes to present their ideas, followed by an engaging Q&A session with the judges and audience.
Promotion of Upcoming IEEE IAS Chapter:
During the event, the IEEE Student Branch took the opportunity to promote the upcoming launch of the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Chapter at Galgotias University. The IAS Chapter aims to focus on bridging the gap between academia and industry, providing students with insights into industry trends, applications, and career opportunities in areas like power systems, industrial automation, and renewable energy solutions. Participants were informed about the exciting activities and professional opportunities that the new IAS Chapter would offer, including workshops, technical talks, and industry collaborations.
The promotion generated significant interest among the participants, with many expressing eagerness to join the upcoming events and get involved with the IAS Chapter.
