IEEE Türkiye Section Education Seminar Series - 2 'AI in Education: Pedagogically Grounded AI Tutors'
Generative AI tools are rapidly changing how students access knowledge and complete academic tasks. While these systems offer unprecedented access to information, they also challenge traditional educational models that rely heavily on evaluating student outputs such as essays, reports, and assignments.
In this session, we will explore how AI is reshaping higher education and why simply banning or ignoring generative AI is not a sustainable strategy. Instead, we will introduce AI tutors as a new class of educational technology that integrates large language models with pedagogical design principles. Using WiseTutor as a real-world example, we will demonstrate how AI systems can support teachers and students while preserving academic integrity and learning quality.
