WiDS Calgary is a conference event coinciding with the annual Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference held at Stanford University (http://www.widsconference.org/) and an estimated 150+ locations worldwide. These events aim to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field.

WiDS Calgary at the Schulich School of Engineering provides opportunities to hear about the latest data science-related research and applications, connect with others, and celebrate the work of outstanding women in this dynamic field. It is sponsored by IEEE, Schulich School of Engineering, Faculty of Science and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

The conference provides a great opportunity to network with industry professionals and researchers and also learning the latest data science-related research, developments, and applications from local speakers as well as from leading experts in the global industry at the main WiDS conference in Stanford University. We will also organize a poster presentation session in which female professionals and researchers from related science and engineering disciplines will present their research. It also provides the opportunity for students and attendees to connect with others and present their work during the poster presentation session. We have 5 local talks all will be presented by female speakers. Two of the speakers are former graduate students at the University of Calgary.

Registration is free and all genders are invited to attend.
