This talk will highlight the IEEE Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE), which supports leaders within the IEEE by offering leadership development tools and resources and targets volunteers and members in leadership roles, providing access to an extensive library of online materials like webinars, workshops, and guides. The talk will focus on the CLE role on enhancing skills in strategic planning, communication, and team building to improve leader effectiveness within IEEE.

Prof Ala' Khalifah of German Jordanian University
IEEE Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE): an overview
This talk will highlight the IEEE Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE), which supports leaders within the IEEE by offering leadership development tools and resources and targets volunteers and members in leadership roles, providing access to an extensive library of online materials like webinars, workshops, and guides. The talk will focus on the CLE's role in enhancing skills in strategic planning, communication, and team building to improve leader effectiveness within IEEE.
Biography:
Dr. Ala’ Khalifeh currently holds the position of President's Advisor for University Campus Life at the German Jordanian University, where he also works as a Professor of Electrical Engineering, holding the position of Department Head. Dr. Khalifeh received the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship in 2005, which enabled him to pursue his doctoral degree from the University of California-Irvine in the United States of America. In September 2021, Dr. Khalifeh became a Fellow of the Innovation Leaders Fellowship (LIF) Program run by the Royal Academy of Engineering - UK. Dr. Khalifeh has had a long experience in IEEE volunteering over the past 20 years, where he served as the IEEE Jordan section chair for the past 4 years (2023-2019). During this period, Dr. Khalifeh and his team were able to increase the number of members to around 2600 members (the highest since the chapter's inception 20 years ago). Dr. Khalifeh has been involved in several R8 Adhoc committees (Ad-Hoc Committee on Educational Infrastructure) and the R8 AdHoc Subsections strategic development committee. Furthermore, he served as a member of the MGA Member Benefits Portfolio Advisory Committee (MBPAC).
